Life Time Smiles Dental Plan (LTSDP)

The Life Time Smiles Dental Plan (LTSDP) utilises our comprehensive care approach to diagnose all current areas of risk to oral health as well as future risks. This leads to a Life Time Smiles Individualised Dental Treatment Plan. The first step is to chart out all required treatment that needs to be completed, including:
  • Immediate treatment for health reasons
  • Deferrable treatment to ensure long term function
  • Optional treatment to achieve the optimal result in terms of all over health, function and aesthetics
The payments are then broken up into manageable monthly amounts which are inclusive of an extended warranty on the treatment provided as well as the cost of future preventive treatment over the term of the dental plan. This means that for the duration of the dental plan, there are no costs over and above the plan, no risks and no worries.

Dental treatment is not something that you need to insure against and dental work can be diagnosed ahead of time, planned for ahead of time and paid for over time. Plus, the risk of any future problems with the work provided is covered by our extended warranty.

To date, health funds have used fear and government policy to drive people to get cover, but then once you have bought their policy they exclude most of the things you would like to get done. This is changing. The LTSDP is personally tailored to suit the patient’s needs and desires. There are no smoke and mirrors. You are not paying for someone else’s dentistry or for someone to answer the phones at the health fund only to tell you that their claim has been rejected due to “waiting periods” or “you are only allowed one of those per year”

We are yet to meet a patient who requires:
  • 80% of a crown
  • 60% of a root canal; or
  • Two cleans a year and one set of x-rays
  • We are yet to meet a patient who has accidently got an abscess
What we have seen are patients who:
  • Wait until their health fund will pay to get treatment done.
  • Their problems increase exponentially over that period.
  • Their problems then become much more difficult to treat and more expensive.
Planning treatment and doing it as necessary while spreading the cost over time makes much more sense. Hence, the introduction of the Life Time Smiles Dental Plan.

Don’t let a health fund plan your treatment, let your dentist!

Life Time Smiles Dental Warranty

Terms and Conditions

Neuromuscular dental plans can be complex and protracted in duration and may involve rehabilitation and reconstruction of a patient’s dentition. Professional fees are determined on a fee per service basis (for example: per crown, per implant, per filling). The fee for each service is in turn calculated as a measure of the clinical time, instrument and material costs involved in the provision of the professional service. The fees are valid for treatment commenced within six (6) months from the date of the treatment plan letter and are not able to be negotiated.

Payment

Payment for the professional services may be made by cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa or MasterCard or by third party financing such as CareCredit (GE Money). At the time of the first appointment for treatment, payment must be made in full to confirm commitment to the treatment. This will be irrespective of any review or adjustment period planned. The final prosthesis will not be placed if the account outstanding is not paid in full and a fee may be charged if an appointment must be cancelled because of such an occurrence.

Dental Warranty

The prosthetic treatment provided is warranted for replacement at no cost should a failure occur. Failure constitutes technical and construction faults only and does not include the following:
  • Recurrent decay due to poor patient oral hygiene
  • Overload failure due to patient non-compliance in wearing an orthotic or prescribed splint for grinding habits
  • Failure due to accident or injury
  • Failure due to wilful or habitual damage (for example: nail biting)
  • Failure due to a change in the patient’s perception of the aesthetics of the final case after completion of treatment or failure due to loss or damage regardless of negligence on the patient’s behalf
The warranty period is for five years from the date of the initial placement of the prosthesis.

Cost of replacement of the prosthesis:
  • In the first year incurs no charge
  • In the second year incurs a charge of 20% of the original fee
  • In the third year incurs a charge of 40% of the original fee
  • In the fourth year incurs a charge of 60% of the original fee
  • In the fifth year incurs a charge of 80% of the original fee
The warranty is valid for five years, providing you maintain your preventative care visits at our office at six monthly intervals. Preventive care includes cleaning treatments, exams, x-rays, and topical fluoride treatments.

Dental prostheses that are covered by this warranty include dental crowns, bridges, implant crowns and ceramic restorations.

In the event that a course of treatment recommended by a dentist is not followed, or an alternative less effective treatment course is chosen instead of the recommended treatment plan, the treatment will not be covered by a dental warranty. The applicability of the dental warranty in relation to the course of treatment followed will be indicated by your dentist.

In extreme rehabilitative or reconstructive cases, the dentition may be compromised to the extent that even complicated, high quality prostheses may have a guarded or poor long term prognosis. In such cases a normal warranty cannot be provided. The applicability or non-applicability of a warranty will be indicated by your dentist.
