Neuromuscular Services

What is Neuromuscular Dentistry?
Assessing the jaw and achieving the optimum position to alleviate pain and discomfort and offering a far superior starting point of any further cosmetic dental enhancements being undertaken.

Dr Christopher Hart has recently returned from Sydney where he completed a series of courses with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), focusing on Aesthetic and Neuromuscular Dentistry.

The Las Vegas institute is world renowned as the leading educational facility in the world for continuing professional development for dentists. Dr Hart is particularly interested in Occlusal (bite) Rehabilitation and is continually updating his professional development and education.

While we have all seen the amazing results and benefits of aesthetic dentistry and smile makeovers, the benefits of neuromuscular dentistry are less well known, even to dentists. Neuromuscular dentistry can be used to treat a wide range of symptoms that you may have thought are unrelated to your bite and your dental health. While these symptoms can be caused by a number of factors we have found that in a large number of cases where these symptoms coincide with a problem with your bite or a habit of clenching your teeth, resolution of the bite and resolving the clenching habit can lead to the resolution of a number of other symptoms including;

  • Headaches including migraines.
  • Shoulder, neck and back pain.
  • Ringing or congestion in the ears.
  • Loose teeth
  • Worn, chipped or cracked teeth and fillings
  • Pain and sensitivity in the teeth.
  • Crowded teeth.
  • Clenching or grinding of the teeth.
  • Fractures at the gum line.
  • Pain or clicking and popping in the jaw joint.
  • Difficulty swallowing.
  • Numbness or tingling in the arms and fingers.
  • Limited opening of the mouth.
  • Loss of chewing efficiency.

If you suffer from any of the above symptoms, Dr Hart and his professional team may be able to help you. At The Life Time Smiles Group, we want to understand your overall health to keep you in optimum condition from head to toe.
